A Kachelofen is a beautiful masterpiece of architecture, that will add the value, beauty and healthy heating to your home and family.
It is a ceramic tiled woodstove which creates a low intensity, radiant heat. Kachelöfen have been developing for over two thousand years in Europe and are famous for creating a healthy, relaxing living enviroment with no pollution and no dangers of chimney fires, as well as being admired for their artisic beauty.

The true Kachelofen has a mystique that speaks to the spirit, that comforts the body and invites people to gather around it's radiant ceramic tile hearth. People who have lived with them have fondest recollections of the family gatherings around the Kachelofen and of the children cuddling up to it. It is always remembered with affection, even as one of the family; as much a part of the lifestyle as the kitchen or family room. This non-polluting, healthy work of art will be an investment in your home equity, and in your family's health and happiness

The Kachelofen can take many forms from a basic room heater up to a exquisite beautiful work of ceramic art designed to be the single architectual centerpiece of the home. Every tile is hand crafted and pain stakingly formed, individually molded, bisqued and glaze fired.
Preferably positioned on or through an inside wall,as below or as a free standing unit, the Kachelofen lends itself best to a central location in the living area. An open floor plan is ideal.

The heating of the second floor can be accomplished by several means. The easiest is to incorporate vented tiles into the design. These will permit a measured amount of heated air to rise to the upper floor by natural convection. Another method is by hypocaust, which is a closed passage way that carries hot air to heat a tile panel on the second floor. This tile panel in turn radiates heat into the upper living space.
